A lot of local producers were there displaying and selling goods and there was a marquee where Cookery demonstrations were held. Sue and I watched John Robinson from Whites Restaurant in Beverley making a lovely lobster dish and also a confit of duck – both of which were polished off by hungry audience members.
We bought a couple of things on the way home, some excellent walnut bread from Fullers Bakery, some equally excellent orange and whisky marmalade from Yorkshire Wolds Bees, and some stonking Wolds Way Chilli jam, made by Picklin Rics. This has a best by date of 1.1.14 – no chance of it getting past that at all!
A nice touch as well was the programme given on entry, which had a free recipe from each of the chefs who were giving demonstrations.
