Dad, Daughter & Dublin

The starting point of the discussion was where and then when. The when came easily but the where required more discussion. I was pressing the case for Berlin but Rachel's first choice was Dublin, so Dublin it was, well at least there'd be some Guinness. I anticipated we'd be walking round a bit to see a few things but the list was quite large and in the end, over three days we managed to get a huge number of things done. I missed out on a sightseeing trip to Howth after a not very nice sandwich for lunch but apart from that we couldn't have picked a more suitably placed hotel. We were in Dublin 2 in Temple Bar, handy for restaurants and most of the things we wanted to see. Great Thai food at Red Torch Ginger, Italian at La Caverna and Tapas at Salamanca. We stayed at Wren Urban Nest which is one of these modern "cubicle type hotels, but, I have to say, lovely staff and great breakfast. No noise from within to keep me awake either.

Note guitar player in band who rachel reckons was a dead ringer for me in the '70s and the 6 German Leprechauns who posed for a picture.

So, a few images from the break, not everywhere but a decent selection :-
