My first afternoon with the ladies for a while and it was a cold but dry day at the Stafflex Arena in Shelley. We had a new manager, Richard Day and also a new assistant physio, Connor (photos below). The 1st half, Huddersfield had the majority of the possession and they went into the break with a slender 1-0 lead. In the second half we saw more of the ball and an excellent attempt by Eve Harriott was parried by the goalkeeper into the path of Lauren Wentworth who whacked it into the net to equalise. Huddersfield then took the lead and nearly towards the end of the match Jessie Shipley picked up the ball and sprinted into the box before beating the goalkeeper to make it 2-2. Unfortunately we couldn't see the match out and a goalmouth scramble saw us concede for a narrow and undeserved 3-2 loss. Hard on the ladies but good team spirit and effort.
