Lake District Christmas

We were relieved when we were allowed to get up to the Lakes for Christmas this year. An opportunity to catch up with our friends from Cheshire who we've not seen for a couple of years. We stayed just outside Bowness and arrived on a cold foggy afternoon. A walk around Rydal Water on Christmas Eve was greatly enjoyed, especially when we encountered a group of dad and lads biking around. They stopped for a short rest half way round and rode their bikes on a shallow bit of water which gave me an opportunity to photograph them. One lad did a take off from the lakeside in the air and I managed to catch him. I've included a few images on here - not all of them, so dad, if you're reading this, make contact via the webpage and I'll send you the rest. I hope you remember what I was wearing!

We had Carol Singers later in the afternoon when we got back - very good they were too.

The break was completed with a falconry display and another walk - this time a shorter one around Grasmere Lake.
