River Rhine (Part 1)

At the third attempt, we finally got to the Rhine. An early morning pickup from home followed by a mid morning pickup of a couple near Sowerby Bridge and on to Manchester airport. A good flight with Lufthansa to Frankfurt airport - a small city in size. We must have walked miles at the end of the flight just to get to the coach. The retrieval of luggage was a complete joke - 1 case came through then nothing for 5 minutes then another 4, then nothing for another few minutes. The absolute worst baggage retrieval in the world.

Anyway, we were welcomed on board our ship in Mainz by a friendly and efficient crew and settled in quickly. The cabins on River Cruises are a lot smaller than on Ocean cruises but they're still quite functional with decent sized bathrooms.

Part 1 consists of a few images from the cruise from Mainz to Strasbourg, Rudesheim and Cochem.
